Our January Best Bits (2018)

Welcome, 2018!

We welcomed the new year in Tuguegarao with the Burgos Clan! We had a great time. We ate good meals, played and danced together. I feel extremely grateful to be a part of this wonderful family. They are very smart, simple and hardworking.  I am very pleased to use the family's last name, Burgos. It's very historical and patriotic. I am also grateful for the opportunity to strengthen my relationship with each of them.

Lesson #1: The happiest people in the world are the ones who have a loving relationship with their family and extended families. Our families empower our self-worth, especially during these perilous times. There are many reasons to feel lonely and to isolate ourselves. But the family embraces who we are. They accept us for what we can't do and will always be there to cheer us up in our daily battles.

Then we came back home to Pampanga and found out that Nanay Sofi had to stay in Bulacan to assist my sister. Mother Lydia came to the rescue because we were so busy with the factory audit and changes in the office during those weeks.  It was a blessing in disguise. On January 14th, we decided to visit Michael's relatives in Pangasinan with Mother Lyds. We didn't expect that it would pass by the famous "Hundred Islands". It was so fun!! We met Tita Minda's family. She is Papa Angelo's sister. I met her daughters and grandchildren. We swam at the beach nearby their house. It was so cool! It was one of the best beaches I've been. We ate lots of good meals. We also dropped by the shore of Hundred Islands. We saw how salt is being made. We hope to go back there very soon.

Lesson #2: A yearly visit to relatives is a must. We keep in touch to write memories on their hearts.

January 20, 2018 when we dropped by at San Fernando Chapel to give my simple tokens for the Young Women. SF1 and SF2's YW New Beginnings were both on the same day. I gave them 6 objects which each symbolizes the "B's" by President Gordon B. Hinckley. I love New Beginnings! It was a crazy day for us and I was so thankful for his extra energy to take me to San Fernando.
My husband worked this week for the factory's audit while I was finishing all the HR stuff as per their policies and contracts. I also give my "6 B's token" to the birthday celebrants in the office.

Lesson #3: I realized that you can choose to do things extra special. People do not care how much you know until they learn how much you care. There will be challenges along the way, but choose to do it now.

ALL ABOUT LITTLE Z
Zephrine is 18 months now. She's becoming more and more energetic. Our baby lessons for this month focus on reading through "Talking English", Animal Sounds and the Opposites. She's a fast learner. We also started our "No Gadget Policy" for her this month at home. She will be entitled to use them only during travel time. Her "sweets day" will be on Sundays. I am also teaching her to say mommy but she always says "daddy". It's so funny but I feel like she intentionally does that. She will say Nanay or Lola, Lolo everytime I asked her to say these words but when it comes to "Mama or Mommy", she never did. She loves to jump, dance and smile at the people around her. She's still very clingy. She loves to eat a lot of rice. People think she's two years old most of the time. We take her to work from time to time.

For myself this year, I started another journey after "Fly Nyles", and I entitled it Refined Womanhood. I created an Instagram account and a blog for this journey plus a facebook page too.  I realized that before I turn 30 years old this year, I would like to be a better version of myself. My journey will be a compilation of my research and its application on how to take care of my mind, heart, body, and spirit. These four areas are the true sources of our inner strengths according to Stephen Covey. I want to be a stronger woman. And to me, a strong woman has an indestructible self-control like a noble gas.

I'm still looking for ways along the way. Happy New Year!!! <3
